Project title:
Advancing the Existing Forest and REDD+ Related Laws and Policies for Recovering and Ensuring the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to Land, Territories and Resources in Indonesia
Impact:
Sustainable forest protection that ensures the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples to own, control and manage their territories and resources.
Outcomes:
Through the proposed Project AMAN will work on expanding the current policies and legal framework available at national level as well as scaling up the current works of AMAN at community level
Main target group:
Indigenous Peoples: Indigenous peoples have been recognized as the guardian of forest, yet, they are faced by challenges as national and international laws and policies do not fully recognize and protect indigenous peoples within forest areas. This Project is aimed at empowering indigenous peoples at the same time enhance the capacity and understanding of government and policy makers on Indigenous Peoples issues.
